In 2019, in Berlin, the musicians of the Omniversal Earkestra, an afrobeat big band, discover vinyl records from the golden age of Malian music: Super Rail Band, Kanaga de Mopti, Super Biton de Ségou, Le Kéné Stars de Sikasso… Enchanted by these sounds, they travel to Mali to meet some of these legends. Salif Keïta, Sory Bamba, Meïmouna, and Cheick Tidiane Seck record an album with them in Bamako. This encounter leads to unforgettable musical moments, as well as confrontations revealing different approaches to rhythm between the two cultures. Mutual respect and learning will ensure the success of the project. A testament to tolerance and pride. A sonic road movie at the heart of 1970s Malian culture.
