THIS IS A FILM ABOUT
THE BLACK KEYS
A Duo That Has Never Split in 23 Years of Career
Jeff Dupre · 2024 · 90’ · USA
Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney formed The Black Keys in Akron, Ohio, in 2001. After a decade of touring and weathering the ups and downs of the music industry, this blues-influenced garage rock duo found global success with the album Brothers (2010), followed by El Camino (2011). Despite numerous forces threatening to pull them apart, the band has stayed together through the release of 12 albums (some produced by Beck or Danger Mouse) and countless tours.
The filmmaker candidly explores this long-standing partnership, despite the disagreements, life’s hardships, and tense moments. As Auerbach puts it, “Overall, we got each other… We’re just two stubborn, hard-headed people, stuck together for eternity”.
